The collection of the Library of the Institute of Applied Linguistics is being relocated to the main University of Warsaw Library (BUW). The Library of the Institute (both reading and lending rooms) is closed.

Library of the Institute of Applied Linguistics

The Library of the Institute of Applied Linguistics is located in the building of the Institute, in Warsaw, 55 Dobra str.:

The Library collection includes 28000 books, 11000 volumes of periodicals, as well as 4450 MA theses and PhD dissertations. The Library is open to the general public – anyone can use the collections on the Library premises. There are 30 reading spaces available in the reading room. Although the majority of the collection is made up of the works in English, French, German, Russian and Spanish, the Library possesses also a large collection of works in Polish. The Library’s resources are expanded with serial and non-serial publications from various fields, such as:

  • general linguistics,
  • comparative linguistics,
  • glottodidactics (foreign language teaching),
  • translation studies,
  • semantics,
  • semiotics,
  • sociolinguistics,
  • psycholinguistics,
  • cultural studies,
  • stylistics,
  • discourse analysis,
  • cross-cultural communication,
  • lexicology and lexicography,
  • sociology,
  • psychology.
