EU’s Ordinary Legislative Procedure for interpreters

Piotr Maciej Kaczyński –  trainer with the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), where he has provided training sessions for over 1,000 people working in the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Council of the European Union and Member States. Most recently Mr Kaczyński was providing training seminars for the Government of Bulgaria in the context of the 2018 Council Presidency.

Mr Kaczyński is a member of Team Europe Warsaw, a team of experts affiliated with the European Commission Representation in Warsaw. He has published academically and journalistically with opinion pieces in European media, in particular expertise reports in the context of Poland’s preparations for the Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2011. Graduated in International Relations,  Warsaw University (2002) and European Affairs, College of Europe (2004). Analyst and Project Manager at the Institute of Public Affairs, Warsaw (2004-7), Researcher and Head of Programme at the Centre of European Policy Studies (2007-12), Political Advisor, Polish Delegation of the Group of the European People Party in the European Parliament (2012-14), Lecturer and External Lecturer, EIPA (since 2014).

Abstrakt:

EU decision-making procedure for interpreters. A lecture outlining the EU ordinary legislative procedure in the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union. The procedure will be presented in detail with stages: preparation, initial stages in the Council and the Parliament, trilogues up to the finalisation stage. Following the lecture, there will be room for Q&A.
